The Concert

Noche de Bolero Gala Night.” Is a free popular music concert scheduled for September 17, 2004 at 7:30 p.m.  It will take place at Albert Taylor Hall with a seating capacity of 1220.  This cross-cultural gift to the Emporia community is sponsored by Emporia State University Departments of Music, and Modern Languages, ESU Hispanic/Latino Achievement for Commitment to Excellence (HACE) Committee, the Spanish Club and HALO, and the I M Design Group; and is part of the Center for Innovation in Teaching program “Taking ESU to the Town and the Community Around the World Within the University.”  The event celebrates Mexico’s Independence Day (or rather Manumission Day) and the friendship between the various ethnic communities in Emporia, Kansas, and the United States of America.
