Welcome to the ESU Summer in France website. Here you will discover how to earn six hours of ESU credit while living and studying in France for the four best weeks of your life! The Program takes place in the beautiful city of Tours, located at the intersection of the Loire and Cher rivers and famous for its blend of the ancient and the modern, its flowers, its easy pace of life, and its proximity to the legendary châteaux de la Loire.  Language instruction is provided by native speakers under the supervision of ESU's program director at the highly-respected Institut de Touraine, which has over 100 years of experience teaching French to foreign students.  We will be taking excursions to over a dozen local sites as well as two longer trips to the Dordogne region and the Mont-Saint-Michel.  Graduate credit is available to high school teachers wishing to re-immerse themselves in French language and culture.  A minimum of one year of college-level French is required for participation in the program
