Doris is presently an instructor of Beginning Spanish II. She came to the United States from Germany where she studied to be a teacher and had a teaching career. She graduated from Emporia State University with a degree in English and Spanish and then pursued graduate studies in English, also at Emporia State University. Her thesis, Dual Temptation: A Comparison between the Temptation of Eve in Paradise Lost and the Lady in Comus, is an analysis of the temptation scenes of the two poems by the English poet John Milton. Her professional interest is linguistics, literature, and translation. Doris also wrote two theses for her teaching degree in Germany. She enjoys reading, writing, traveling, and studying different cultures.

Doris is a member of Phi Kappa Phi, Sigma Tau Delta, Sigma Delta Pi, and Phi Theta Kappa.
