 Renate Kerwick

Instructor of German

My name is Renate Kerwick.  I am a native of Germany but have lived with my family in Emporia since 1960.

I am fortunate to have been associated with ESU since 1968, when I began my undergraduate studies.  In May 1971, I received my BSE with a major in German and a minor in Spanish.  In August 1972, I completed my Masters' degree here at ESU.

As a student, I was a member of Delta Phi Alpha, a Fellowship recipient, and on the President's Honor List.

From 1971-1972, I worked as a graduate assistant in the German department at ESU and then as lecturer from 1972-1973.

In 1992, Dr. García, then chair of the Foreign Language Department, invited me to join the faculty again as instructor in German.  I am very grateful to her for making it possible for me to do the one thing I love doing most: teaching.
