Professor Di Laura specializes in Spanish American Literature and Culture.  She wrote her dissertation on the novels of Julio Ramón Ribeyro (Perú, 1929-1994).  She has presented papers on Ribeyro’s novels and dramas.  She has also presented papers on dramas, novels, and poems of Contemporary Spanish American Literature.  Her research interest focuses primarily on the Andean Region.  In particular, she has studied in depth the Generation of the 1950’s in Perú.  She is also fascinated by  the development of South American drama; specifically, the Post War World Theater.  Her teaching interest also include, Spanish American Poetry and Short Stories.  She has previously taught at Rockford College (Rockford, IL) and Beloit College (Beloit, WI).  She is the Advisor for the Spanish Club.
