Professor Clamurro specializes in Spanish Golden Age literature and is the author of two books, Beneath the Fiction: The Contrary Worlds of Cervantes's Novelas Ejemplares and Language and Ideology in the Prose of Quevedo , and several articles on Spanish literature of the 16th and 17th centuries.  His teaching interests also include Comparative Literature studies and the cultures and contemporary literatures of Latin America and Spain.  Prof. Clamurro is a charter member of the Cervantes Society of America, of which he has served as Secretary-Treasurer for many years, and he is currently the book review editor of the society's journal, Cervantes .  He has previously taught at Denison Univ. (Ohio), St. Mary's College of Maryland, Montclair State Univ. (NJ), and the Universidad de las Américas (Mexico), and has led a seminar in Guatemala ("La tradición norteamericana en la literatura" at the Instituto Guatemalteco-Americano), as well as several student study tour programs in Mexico and Spain.
