East Asian Studies Program

2006 ESU in Beijing is a three-week Mandarin Chinese Language training program at Beijing Union University, located in Beijing, China. During the first two weeks, students are participating in language classes in the mornings and cultural activities in the afternoons. Weekend excursions include: the Great Wall of China, Ming Dynasty Tombs, Tian-an Men Square, The Palace Museum, Summer Palace, The Temple of Heaven, and shopping in Open Air Markets. A trip to Qindao and Dalian is arranged during the last week.
The total cost of the trip for 2006 is $2700, which includes airfare, tuition, room and board, cultural activities, tours, and 3 undergraduate credit hours at ESU. (Honors credit is optional.) This study abroad program is led by Dwight Moore, Associate Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences, and Yuhua Tsui, Instructor in the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures and Director of the East Asian Studies Program.
