The walk will move west on 6th Avenue, then south on State Street to Grace United Methodist Church at the corner of South Avenue and Neosho Street.

Samuel Oliver

Samuel Oliver was born to Faith and James Oliver November 15, 1971 in Kansas City, MO. At an early age he accepted Jesus Christ into his life and received most of his teaching through his grandfather, the late Presiding Elder Edward Daniel Miller. In his youth and his young adult years at Allen Chapel A.M.E. Church he served as YPD President and Vice President, President of both the Young and Adult Usher Board, Lay Member, Steward Board member, Youth delegate at the year 2000 General conference, Sunday school and Vacation Bible school , and Licentiate Minister and Christian Educator. Samuel is married to Monica Faye Davis- Oliver, and they have two lovely daughters: Samantha and Monique Oliver.

Samuel strives to do his best in everything he does. He graduated Cum Laude with a BA degree in Sociology from Mississippi Valley State University and received a BS degree in Elementary Education from Paul Quinn College in Dallas, Texas. He was a member of Alpha Kappa Mu National Honor Society, Alpha Chi Honor Society, and Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity. He was a Computer Teacher for 4 years in the Kansas City, MO School District. He now works for Wal-Mart as an Overnight Support Supervisor. Samuel was ordained as an Itinerant Deacon on September 15, 2013 and has been the proud as Pastor of Mt. Olive A.M.E. Church in Emporia, KS for over 2 years now.
