February 28, 2009: Pike's Peak Regional ConferenceThe 6th Annual Pikes Peak Regional Undergraduate Mathematics Conference will be held at the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs. If you are interested in attending or making a presentation, see Dr. Hollenbeck. A $30 deposit is due by February 10th.
March 9, 2009: Math Trail The annual Math Trail will be held at Emporia Middle School at 6:30 pm. Students have the opportunity to solve math puzzles for prizes. If you would like to volunteer to help, see Dr. Schrock.
March 7, 2009: Expanding Your Horizons Expanding Your Horizons is an event for Middle School girls. Volunteers are needed for any times between 8:00 am and 3:00 pm. If you would like to help, see Dr. Betsy Yanik.
March 13, 2009: Pi Day Come celebrate Pi Day at 1:59 pm in SH247 on Pi Day Eve. We will have snacks while watching the Great Pi/e Debate. Only circular food allowed!
March 26-28, 2009: KME National Convention Our KME National Convention will be held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. If you are interested in attending or making a presentation, see Dr. Schrock by February 4th. A $280 deposit is required.
April 22-25, 2009: NCTM National Meeting The NCTM National Meeting will be held in Washington D.C. If you are interested in attending, see Dr. Schrock.
May 1-2, 2009 MAA Kansas Sectional Meeting The MAA Kansas Sectional Meeting will be held at Pittsburg State University. There is also a problem-solving competition. If you would like to attend or compete, see Dr. Shi.
Most Thursdays at 3:30 PM: Come solve math problems in SH 249. See Dr. Shi for details.
Most Fridays at 3:00 PM: Math Club meets in SH 249. An informal gathering to discuss topics, play games, and/or watch videos of mathematical interest. See Dr. Hollenbeck for details.
Next semester there will be opportunities to attend a math conference for undergraduates. See Dr. Hollenbeck if you are interested in attending.
