Scholarships
These scholarships are for departmental majors with special talent in their field of study and are awarded in addition to other scholarships based on grade point average awarded by the ESU Foundation. They include: The William F. and Carolyn R. Simpson Scholarship, The Bonner &. Bonner Mathematics Scholarship, The George and Mary Downing Mathematics Scholarship, and The Loren and Delores Harrell Mathematics Scholarship.
Descriptions for these scholarships are available in the department office SH141.
Applicants must submit a letter of application by March 27, 2009.
The letter should include each of the following items:
1. Which scholarship or scholarships you wish to be considered for.
In general you will only receive funds from one of these
scholarships.
2. A statement addressing how you meet the scholarship criteria.
3. A brief essay on why you feel you should receive one of these merit based scholarships.
