The New 150th Anniversary Logo and Its Uses

In order to properly celebrate Emporia State University’s 150th Anniversary, the university is implementing the new 150th logo as the transition logo for all university communications. These communications include stationery (letterhead, envelopes and business cards as well as the key identifier and brand on the Emporia State webpages. This new logo will replace the Power E, which will still be associated with athletics. We continue to encourage the use of the Power E on promotional items, such as T-shirts and other novelty items. If you have plenty of Power E logo stationery on-hand, we encourage you to use these until February 13, 2013 and then order stationery with the new logo. This is a cost-saving action for departments and for the university.

The following section explains guidelines for the new logo’s proper use and provides information for the preparation of various types of printed and virtual materials used by our faculty, staff and students. These guidelines will assure proper and informed use of the logo. The Emporia State 150th Anniversary logo will be in use until December 2013 as we honor the university’s past, present and future.

The Emporia State 150th Anniversary Logo

It’s a momentous occasion when a university celebrates 150 years of teaching. We want everyone associated with or come in contact with the university to recognize our proud heritage. For these reasons, the 150th Anniversary logo is appropriate for use on the university’s promotional and educational materials.

To ensure that this proud heritage is presented in a consistent fashion, the entire logo should be used as presented. However, for some purposes, the elements can be split into separate images as long as they are used together.

This will require that the new logo be used for approved purposes and that it should not be modified without approval.

Copies of the logo are available via the Logos and Images link on the left navigation.
