SPECIAL STUDIES IN EDUCATION

Graduate

1-3 Credit Hours

To provide in-depth studies in specific dimensions of teaching, such as techniques of questioning, evaluation of instruction, evaluation of curriculum. Topics will vary from semester to semester.

XK/XL - FHSEC SPECIAL READING ACADEMY

NBPTS CERTIFICATION ASSESSMENT SCORING

This course awards graduate credit for teachers who have been trained as assessors by ETS to score NBPTS portfolio entries or assessment center entries in their content area and developmental level. Teachers must submit to the instructor a photocopy of the ETS certificate issued to them upon successful completion of the extensive training sessions and hours served as assessors.

Prerequisites: Permission required to enroll.

ADVANCED NBPTS CERTIFICATION ASSESSMENT SCORING

This course awards graduate credit for teachers who have previously been trained by ETS and have already successfully served as NBPTS assessors. These teachers will also have completed additional training by ETS and successfully scored a different NBPTS portfolio entry or assessment center exercise in their content area and developmental level from the one in which they were originally trained. Teachers must submit to the instructor a photocopy of the ETS certificate issued to them upon successful completion of the extensive training sessions and hours served as assessors.
