KITS WORKSHOP

Each June, KITS, Kansas State Department of Education, and Kansas Department of Health and Environment Infant-Toddler Services sponsor a four-day Summer Institute. The goals of the Summer Institute include:

  • providing the opportunity for professional development,
  • providing two college credit hours, and
  • providing in depth training on the focused topic for the upcoming year.

The cost of tuition and enrollment fees varies by university and is the responsibility of the student. Participants must also be able to attend all four days. KITS provides lodging (in a resident hall), meals and materials and a flat subsidy of $50 to cover travel. Applications are due by April 30 of each year but are accepted until all participant openings are filled.

KITS Summer Institute is open to all people working with children in Kansas. Priority is given to those professionals working with children birth to eight who have disabilities.

Topic: Evidence Based Practices for Services to Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders.
