The LOC map collections include historic maps depicting military, cultural and technical history.
The USA.gov website has collected sites of various Government agencies that pertain to American history.
The library at the University of Virginia has developed this tool to search and map data from the U.S. Censuses from 1790 through 1960.
The U.S. Presidents' Public Papers
This site maintained by the University of Michigan provides searchable access to the presidential papers from the Hoover Administration through the Clinton Administration.
World War II Newsmaps
WAWL has an extensive collection of War Department Newsmaps published weekly during the Second World War.
The War Department collected and published all of the official reports and correspondence of the Union and Confederate military during the Civil War. WAWL has most of the collection in print. Cornell University has created digital collections of the records of the Armies and the Navies.
The National Archives collect the documentary history of the United States. As such, they contain primary resources unavailable elsewhere.
U.S. Congressional Serial Set
The Congressional Serial Set collects all of the published reports and proceedings of the Congress of the United States.
