Library Printing Policy

  1. The ULA currently provides free printing to ESU students, faculty and staff. This is a service the university provides and should only be used for academic purposes.
  2. Printing will be limited to one copy for assignment papers or other academic related needs. If you need multiple copies of the same document the library provides coin-operated copiers on the lobby level at 10 cents per page.
  3. Print jobs exceeding 30 pages will be charged 10 cents per sheet of paper. We encourage you to print on both sides of the paper to cut down on waste. If you need assistance with this, please ask at the reference desk.
  4. Please make sure you change the selected printer to “No Duplex” to avoided double sided printing. If you are unsure how to do this, please ask at the reference desk.
  5. Print jobs sent from the network public access computers on the 2 nd floor or from the wireless laptop computers go to the printers at the Reference/Information Desk, 2 nd floor.
  6. Print jobs must be picked up by the patron whose name appears on the owner line. Make sure to login to the computer under your own name. This is the only way that staff can identify the person requesting a print job belongs to. If you are logged in as a guest, you will be assigned a number and print jobs will be identified by this number. If necessary, identification will be asked to verify whose print job it is. Due to privacy issues, we cannot release print jobs to any person other than the person whose name is designated in the print queue.
  7. Patrons should inform the reference desk staff when they are aware of print jobs which could be cancelled.
  8. Kansas Residents and guests are charged 10 cents per sheet of paper. A bill will be issued with the print job. The bill and money is taken to the Circulation Desk on the lobby level.
  9. There are four stand-alone computers on the 2 nd floor that feature Microsoft Office only. They are not connected to the network. The four computers share a printer on the 2 nd floor and printing from these computers is free.
  10. The deadline for picking up print jobs from the Reference/Information Desk is 15 minutes before the library closes. At that point, all remaining print jobs will be purged from the queue.
