Nancy Schon to speak at ESU

Emporia State University Archives is pleased to host Boston-based artist Nancy Schon, who, while she visits Emporia State University as a member of the Friends of the May Massee Collection Advocacy Group, will speak to the campus community on Monday, April 7, 2008 in the Heath Recital Hall, from 5-6:30 p.m. Nancy's phenomenally popular sculpture of Mrs. Mallard and her eight ducklings, Jack, Kack, Lack, Mack, Nack, Ouack, Pack and Quack, provides a destination for hundreds of thousands of visitors to the Boston Public Garden each year. Nancy will speak about her training as a studio artist, the inspiration she has found in children's literature, and her career before and after the famous "Boston Ducklings."

White Library Printing Policy

(effective January 2, 2008)

Printing for academic purposes from computers and laptops in White Library is free to ESU students, faculty and staff if print jobs are 30 pages or fewer. Print jobs that exceed 30 pages cost 10 cents per page. All print jobs go to the Reference/Information Desk, 2nd floor.

Printing is limited to one copy of a print job for an assignment or for other academic needs. Photocopiers are available in room 127C, White Library Lobby, to make additional copies. Photocopies cost 10 cents per page.

Kansas Resident Card holders pay 10 cents per page for printing.

We encourage you to save paper and toner by:

--Clicking "File" and "Print", and then selecting the duplex printer to print double-sided copies. (The printer option labeled "No Duplex" will print jobs on one side only.)

--Using the Print Preview feature to see the number of pages to be printed, and to select only the pages you need.

--Changing the default print option in jobs such as Powerpoint presentations to "Handouts" of six slides per page, or three slides per page with room for notes.

--Informing Reference/Information Desk personnel of any print jobs that can be cancelled, or asking for help with print jobs.

ESU students, faculty, and staff sign on to the library's computers and laptops with their own user names and passwords. Print jobs are then identified by the user name. Due to privacy issues, we cannot release print jobs to any person other than the person whose user name is designated in the print queue.

The deadline for picking up print jobs from the Reference/Information Desk is 15 minutes before the library closes. At that point, all remaining print jobs will be deleted from the print queue.

Questions? Don't hesitate to contact the Reference/Information Desk in person, or by phone at 620-341-5207 or 1-877-613-7323.
