John R. and Carolyn Webb Leadership

Scholarship:

The John Webb Leadership Scholarship was established as a tribute to Dr. John R. Webb on behalf of the hundreds of Emporia State University students fortunate to work with him.

 

Dr. Webb enjoyed a long and distinguished career as Vice President for Student Affairs. During his tenure at Emporia State University, he worked with hundreds of student leaders through the Associated Student Government.  Upon his retirement in 1986, the Associated Student Government established the John R. Webb Leadership Scholarship in his name.

Robert and Mary Glennen Leader

Scholarship

 

Robert and Mary Glennen Leader Scholarship will be awarded to "Outstanding students who exemplify the standards of high character, leadership, and commitment to their fellow students. Those who receive these scholarships shall be known during the time they are at ESU as Glennen Leader Scholars."

Dr. Hirsh Student Involvement

Scholarship

 

The Dr. James Hirsh Student Involvement Scholarship honors the memory of the former Vice-President for Student Affairs and advisor to the Associated Student Government.  Dr. Hirsh’s commitment to the furtherance of all students at Emporia State University was genuine and unwavering.  This scholarship is designed to honor one student annually who has made a commitment to the students of Emporia State University, one who mirrors the dedication of Dr. Hirsh, through consistent support of campus organizations, as well as the interests of all students.

Outstanding Advisor Award

The Advisor demonstrates high levels of commitment and involvement as well as a passion for personal growth and student development. The advisor also encourages the student to become informed, responsible, and productive citizens and also encourages students to provide quality service to the Emporia campus and community. This advisor has promoted a sense of campus community and school spirit and makes a significant impact on organizaions while continually challenging, changing, and creating the students and the organization.

Outstanding Event Award

The outstanding event must be a community service, educational, multicultural, or social event and provided an opportunity for students to learn and grow. The event must be student planned, implemented, promoted, and evaluated and made a significant impact on campus community. Any events from April 1, 2010 through April 1,2011 are eligible for this award.

Outstanding Student Organization

Award

The outstanding student organization must be committed to membership development and outreach and have productive advisor invovlement. The organiztion has a clear sense of mission and goals and is seen as a role model for other groups to follow. The organization fosters goodwill and promotes collaboration with other groups and overall contribute to ESU and the Emporia community through outreach and service programs all while deloping positive programming for the campus community.
