Lecture Series
The Liberal Arts and Sciences Lecture Series is a program developed and supported by the Dean’s Advisory Committee within the college. The series was established to provide an opportunity for faculty members from throughout the university to learn of the outstanding professional activities of faculty colleagues.
Faculty members invited by the Advisory Committee present information and examples of their scholarship and professional productivity. These presentations are filmed and made available through the College of Liberal Art and Sciences web site.
An additional purpose of the series is to provide a venue at which faculty members from across the campus may interact, share activities and successes, and discuss plans for future development. Maintenance of a strong bond among and between faculty members is a worthwhile goal, and one that is supported by the Lecture Series.
The Series begins each fall with a presentation by the previous year’s recipient of the LA&S award for Scholarship. Events are always free and open to the public. Please check the university calendar for dates, times and locations for future lectures, or call the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences for details.
