Deadline for the Newberg Outstanding Senior Award
Nominees must be a senior graduating in the spring, summer, or fall of 2009, with a minimum GPA of 3.5. Each member of the faculty and staff may nominate one senior. Nomination forms can be obtained online at www.emporia.edu/saf/newbergsenior.htm and may be sent to Box 47 or dropped off at the Sauder Alumni Center. Questions can be directed to Nikki Metz at nmetz1@emporia.edu or ext. 6468. The Newberg Outstanding Senior will receive a cash prize of $500 and the Distinguished Senior will receive a cash prize of $250.
Box Tops for Education
The Center for Early Childhood Education will send in their second submission of Box Tops for Education at the end of February. If anyone has been collecting for them, please send to Box 4042 by Tuesday, February 24th.

Monday, 3.9.09—2009 President’s Award for Research and Creativity Deadline
This award is intended to honor an ESU individual who has been active in research, scholarly activity, or creative endeavors. The award includes $1,000 which the recipient can choose to receive as a stipend or use for professional travel. To obtain an application, contact Kara Wolford at 341-5470 or kwolfor1@emporia.edu The requirements are:
1. Be a dependent or child of ESU Classified Personnel
2. Apply for admission to the university for 2009-2010
3. If a continuing student, be in good academic standing
4. Attend ESU in at least half-time enrollment
5. Complete application before March 6, 2009.
