Checklist of Kansas Dragonflies
by Roy J. Beckemeyer and Donald G. Huggins

Roy J. Beckemeyer (957 Perry St., Wichita, KS 67203-3141) has been a resident of Kansas for over 25 years. An aeronautical engineer by education, he has studied the taxonomy, distribution, biology and ecology of dragonflies and damselflies as a serious avocation for a number of years. He is also interested in the mechanics of flight in insects and birds.

Donald G. Huggins ([he University of Kansas, 2041 Constant Ave., Lawrence, KS 66047-2906) is Senior Scientist and Director of the Ecotoxicology Program of the Kansas Biological Survey. His professional area of study is the taxonomy and ecology of aquatic invertebrates, with a focus on Odonata. Much of the knowledge of dragonflies in Kansas is based on his 20 years of work in the state.
