Figure 10. A male (top) and female (bottom) snow scorpionfly, drawn by Dr. Byers. The rudimentary wings are somewhat more conspicuous, hook-like in themale but small flaps in the female. There are no halteres and scorpionfiles have a drawn-out "face."
