1950s
Janice S. (Cassidy) Stoll (BS '59), Rice Lake, WI, died July 30, 2004. She and her husband, Jim, owned and operated J&J car washes in Rice Lake, WI for the past 20 years. Jan was a member and treasurer of the Fortnightly Club, the RL Chamber of Commerce, Alpha Sigma Tau Sorority, the Jaycee Jaynes in Newton, KS, Hartland Car Wash Assoc. ,and the Great Lakes Forestry Museum. She is survived by her husband, James; a daughter, Deana Caron, of Wausau, WI; a son, Michael, of Rinc Lake; two grandchildren; and three sisters, Patricia Sorem of Corvallis, OR, Barbra Kraft of Denver, CO, and Nancy Stonebraker of Ellsworth, KS.
1970s
Paul R. Crawford (BSE '72, MSE '75), Topeka, KS, was recently re-elected as a member of the Board of Directors of Kansas Association of Directors of Plant Facilities. He also serves as a scholarship judge for KADPF and is a member of the board of directors for the Kansas Association of School Business Officials as well as the Midwest Energy Managers Organization. He has been Director of Maintenance at Seaman Public Schools for the last eleven years.
Karen M. (DeTar) Sullivan, and now Linnebur
(BSE '74), Coffeyville, KS, works for USD #445 at Community
Elementary School. She writes: "This is my 30th year of teaching in Coffeyville.
They say that our new school is the largest in Kansas.
My
new job title is: Title 1 Teacher. I teach Guided
Reading (grades 2 and 3) at Community Elementary in
the morning and then go to teach Reading and Math
(grades K - 6) at Holy Name School in the afternoon.I have 6 'great' children of my own. Two go to
Community Elementary School, two are in colleges, and
two are married."
1980s
Nancy L. Bolz (BSE '81), Newton, KS, recently earned her doctorate at Wichita State University in Educational Administration and Supervision. Her dissertation topic was: "The School Improvement Process: Does It Really Make a Difference in Student Learning?"
Julie M. (Lowe) Tempelmeyer (BA '81, MLS '03), Olpe, KS, is the librarian at Burlington Elementary School.

Masterson (BS '83, MS '86), Melvern, writes that he is currently in his first year of the Master of Divinity program at Naropa University, a Buddhist founded university.
Lisa M. Robison (BSE '83), Topeka, KS, finished her master's degree from the University of Kansas in August 2003. Her degree is an MA in Education, Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL). She is an ELL teacher at Quincy Elementary School.
Lisa A. (LaFauci) Gilmore (BSE '85), Avenel, NJ, was just promoted from teacher to teacher trainer in her school district. She will be completing her master's degree in Educational Leadership in May of 2005.
Mike A. Holt (BSE '89), Maple Hill, KS, is a special education teacher at St. Mary's in USD 321 for seven years. He is also the head wrestling coach and an assistant football coach at the high school.
1990s
Scot D. Brownrigg (BSE '90), Welda, KS, is currently a high school social science teacher for USD 365. He writes: "As of January 10th I will take office as the new Anderson County Sheriff. I will be leaving the teaching field, but I am looking forward to pursuing my law enforcement career."

Jim E. Allen (BSE '93, MS '97), Salina, KS, is a school counselor at Salina South High School. He and his wife have a son, Landen Jacob, born July 21, 2004, and a daughter, Lauren.
Dawn L. (Pruitt) Jenkins (BSE '94), Smith Center, KS, completed her master's of Art in Teaching from Friends University in May 2004. She is a teacher at the Smith County Learning Center.
Troy L. Thornton (BSE '97), Rifle, CO, writes: "On November 2nd (election day), 2004, my wife and I were blessed by having a baby girl. Alexis Chenae Thornton is a very healthy and happy little girl." Troy is a health teacher at Rifle Middle School.
Amanda J. (Duncan) Cunningham (BS '99, MS '01) and Rick Cunningham (BS '01), Emporia, KS, are parents of a daughter, Brenna, born June 22, 2004. Amanda is a children's therapist for the Mental Health Center of East Central Kansas. Rick is the Marketing Director for ESU

2000s
Mike Barron (BS '97) and Rachel (Frazier) Barron (BSE '00), North Newton, had a baby boy, Andrew Michael Barron, on August 10, 2003.
Toni D. Richardson (BSE '01), El Dorado, KS, recently changed from teaching 6th grade special education to teaching 6th and 7th grade special education for the El Dorado School District. This is the second year she is coaching 8th grade volleyball, 7th grade boys basketball, and 8th grade girls basketball.
Jennifer M. (Anderson) Yearout (BSE '01), Wichita, KS, was married July 10, 2004. She works for the Wichita Public Schools.
Evelyn M. (Klempnauer) Nelson (BSE '02), Edgerton, KS, is in the process of getting her master's in special education from ESU; she expects to be done in Spring 2006. Currently she is a special education teacher at Spring Hill High School in USD 230.
Troy S. Huggett (MS '02), Battle Creek, MI, was selected Northern Michigan University 2004 Outstanding Young Alumni. The award was presented during NMU Homecoming Weekend October 16, 2004. Troy graduated with a BS from NMU in 1992 and an MS from ESU 2002, he owns Troy Huggett's Fitness Pros, a personal training/massage therapy business. In addition to running his business, he is an adjunct instructor in the Physical Education Dept. at Kellogg Community College in Battle Creek, teaches internationally for the American Council on Exercise Personal Training Practical Training and Exam Review programs, writes continuing education programs for ACE, is a licensed Emergency Medical Technician and makes EMS continuing education presentations across the state of Michigan. He continues to be active with local charity and volunteer groups, including the American Diabetes Association, Burnham Brook Senior Center, American Heart Association, and the Michigan State Special Olympics.
