Directions to The Earl Center

From the northeast via I-35:

• From the south via Highway 99
• From the west via Highway 50 (there are two ways)
  - Option A
  - Option B
• From the north or south via the turnpike
• From the west and from the turnpike may find it easier to take the I-35 Bypass

From the northeast via I-35:

1. Take the third Emporia exit (Merchant Street/Hwy 99)
   
2. Turn left – over the interstate – and go about one block to 18th Ave.
   
3. Turn right at 18th Ave. and go two blocks to State Street.
   
4. Turn left on State Street – a park will be on your left as you head south on State St.
   
5. About two-thirds of the way down the block and on your right you will see a small gray sign that reads “The Earl Center.” Underneath, it lists “Counselor Education and Rehabilitation.” The campus will probably not have the “Jones Institute for Educational Excellence” added to that sign when you get here, but we ARE here.
   
6. Turn into the parking lot and go to the right (down hill) toward the lower/back of the building. On the north side is the entrance to the Jones Institute for Educational Excellence. The entrance to our offices faces the back side of condominiums. Park in any available space and come on in.

 
From the south via Highway 99:

1.  Come north through town – Highway 99 becomes Commercial Street as you enter the city limits.
   
2. Stay on Hwy 99/Commercial until it ends at 12th street (at the front entrance of the university at the south end campus)
   
3. Turn left at the intersection of 12th and Hwy 99/Commercial
   
4. Go approximately one block to Merchant Street and turn right – you will be driving along the west side of the campus.
   
5. Follow Merchant street to 15th Ave.
   
6. Turn left at 15th Ave and go two blocks to State St. (the turn is just before an former hospital)
   
7. Turn right on State St. and at about 1000 feet down the block you will see a small gray sign that reads “The Earl Center” on your left. Underneath the sign, it lists “Counselor Education and Rehabilitation.” The campus will probably not have the “Jones Institute for Educational Excellence” added to that sign when you get here, but we ARE here.
   
8. Turn into the parking lot and go to the right (down hill) toward the lower/back of the building. On the north side is the entrance to the Jones Institute for Educational Excellence. The entrance to our offices faces the back side of the condominiums. Park in any available space and come on in.

From the west via Highway 50 (there are two ways):

Option A -

1. Highway 50 will lead right into town and become 6th Ave.
   
2. Stay on Hwy 50/6th Ave. until you reach Merchant Street in downtown Emporia; turn left on to Merchant. (There will be a building with a large mural of the Flint Hills you will pass on your right as you get on to Merchant.)
   
3. Follow Merchant street to 15th Ave. then turn left at 15th Ave.
   
4. Go two blocks to State St. Turn right on State St. and at about 1000 feet down the block you will see a small gray sign that reads “The Earl Center” on your left. Underneath the sign, it lists “Counselor Education and Rehabilitation.” The campus will probably not have the “Jones Institute for Educational Excellence” added to that sign when you get here, but we ARE here.

Option B - You can veer to the left and take the I-35 bypass and follow the directions below, as if you had just exited the turnpike.

From the north or south via the turnpike:

1. Take the one and only Emporia exit.
   
2. After passing through the toll gate, veer to the left and take the Interstate 35 bypass as if you’re headed toward Kansas City.
   
3. The first exit off of the bypass is Industrial Road – don’t take that one. Go to the next exit, Merchant Street/Hwy 99 – DO take this exit.
   
4. At the end of the exit ramp, turn right and go one block to 18th Ave.
   
5. Turn right at 18th Ave. and go two blocks to State St.
   
6. Those traveling from the west and from the turnpike may find it easier to take the I-35 Bypass.
