This workshop will focus on effective ways to analyze the state assessment results and to present the data to staff, parents and the board of education. Participants will use Excel in analyzing the data and Powerpoint to create the presentations. Participants will need some basic knowledge in using both programs. Sample templates will be made available.

What to bring:

  • Laptop loaded with Excel and Powerpoint
  • CETE login and password
  • KSDE secure login and password

This workshop is limited to 20 participants due to limited wireless connections.

Bob Winkler is an expert when it comes to working with the Kansas Assessment Data. He is currently president of the Kansas Assessment Advisory Council and his Red, White and Blue Data Analysis process is used by test coordinators throughout the state to help target areas for improvement on the Kansas assessments. Bob is the director of assessment and research for the Shawnee Mission School District. He taught in grades three through six for 15 years before becoming a Title I math resource teacher. He also spent seven years as the elementary mathematics resource teacher for the district. Bob was a primary author for the Kansas state math contest, served on the Kansas Association of Mathematics Teachers board, and was president of the Kansas Area of Teachers of Mathematics.
