Mike Erickson joined Emporia State University as Associate Vice President of Information Technology and Chief Information Officer in 2008. As CIO, Mike is responsible for ensuring that the university has access to the information technology resources necessary to carry out its mission, achieve its vision, and in support of its strategic plan. He leads a staff of more than 40 dedicated individuals who work to ensure that students, faculty, and staff have access to technology resources that empower them to achieve their personal and professional goals while at Emporia State.
Mike participates actively in state, regional and national organizations and initiatives in the areas of information technology and higher education. He is currently a member of the Kansas Board of Regents Information Technology Council (RITC), and serves as an appointee to the Kansas Partnership for Accessible Technology (KPAT) representing the Regents institutions of higher education in Kansas. He is also currently serving as Chair of the Board of Directors of the Kansas Research and Education Network (KanREN).
Mike is an active member of EDUCAUSE and has presented and conducted workshops at both the regional and national level. He is chair of the program committee for the West-Southwest Regional Conference in 2013 and is a Council Member on the Hawkins Leadership Roundtable.
