IRS Degree Requirements


1. The student must complete at least 124 semester hours of credit in courses numbered 100 and above to include:

  • General Education Requirements of 49 hours:

    • Majority should be completed prior to beginning program.

    • Although Emporia State University offers only a limited number of general education courses online, many can be obtained online through community colleges. Click here for a list of online resources.

  • Minimum of 60 hours for Major Requirements

  • Minimum of 15 hours of General Electives

  • Minimum of 12 hours in the Core Classes

  • Maximum of 30 hours of the total program may be taken from business courses

  • One of the following must be meet:

    • A total of 75 hours earned from ESU, 6 of the final 12 hours

    • A total of 30 of the final 45 hours earned at ESU

  • ESU and cumulative GPA of 2.0

3. The student must satisfactorily complete the IRS Practicum.
