Student Employment Guidelines for On-Campus Jobs

In order to obtain and/or continue employment in a position, you must meet the satisfactory academic progress guidelines.

On-campus hourly students must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 hours per semester for regular employment during the Academic Year.

For summer employment, undergraduates and graduate students must be enrolled in at least one hour during the summer or pre enrolled for the fall semester.

For information regarding Graduate Assistantships please contact the Graduate Studies office at 341-5508.

International Students: When you accept on campus employment, you will need to contact the Director of International Education in 218 SE Morse Hall, in order to obtain an on campus work permit. This work permit is required for each semester and should be attached to your student employment agreement when it is submitted to the Office of Human Resources.

  • When applying for a position, please make every effort to have an "in the office" interview.
  • If you are offered a position, you must complete the following forms before you start the work: employment contract from the hiring department; W-4 form; I-9 form (provide two forms of ID); substance abuse form.
  • All student positions are temporary. A student is allowed to work 20 hours or less per week, during enrolled periods. Students must meet the enrollment requirements to hold a student position and to be exempt from OASDI (FICA).
