About Us:

The Office of Human Resources supports ESU’s vision of “changing lives for the common good” through the university’s employees. We strive to recruit, hire, and retain faculty and staff who embody the values of excellence, respect, responsibility, and service. In doing so, we are building a community which is preparing students for lifelong learning, rewarding careers, and adaptive leadership.

Additionally, the Office of Human Resources is committed to the growth and well-being of all university employees. This is accomplished through the functions of employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, and professional development.

Foreign National Employment

To assist foreign national employees, and the departments employing them, we have added additional information about Optional Practical Training (OPT), H-1B non-immigrant visas, and permanent residency (green cards) at http://www.emporia.edu/humres/jobs/foreign-national/index. A link to this page has been added to our "Jobs" menu in the navigation banner at the top of this page. Documents that help the employee and department progress through the sponsorship steps can also be found on the documents button in the navigation banner at the top of this page.

 

HealthQuest Rewards

It is once again time to start earning HealthQuest Rewards points by logging into the HealthQuest Portal! The state is using a new provider this year, so all employees (and participating spouses) will need to create a new username and password.  Your state ID number will be required, and that can be found on your pay stub, or you can contact HR for assistance.  After the account is created, you can earn points toward the $480 discount on your 2018 premiums (deadline December 31, 2017), as well as an additional $500 in your HSA (for those on plan C; deadline November 9, 2017).  Learn more about HealthQuest here, or check out the HealthQuest FAQ.

 

Tuition Assistance/Waiver

Dependent and spouse Tuition Waiver applications are due by the 10th day of the enrolled class for the Spring 2018 semester. The student must be enrolled in at least one class prior to starting the application, and the E# for the employee and student will also be required.

Employee Tuition Assistance applications for the Spring 2018 semester are due Friday, December 29th by 5pm.  The employee must be enrolled in at least one class prior to starting the application. 

The applications, guidelines, and more information can be found under the Current Employees > Tuition Assistance tab near the top of this page. We regret that we will be unable to accept late applications.
