Hello Hornets! Below you will find a list of campus resources and a schedule of events you are invited to participate in this fall. These events are designed to help new students learn about important resources and involvement opportunities available at Emporia State. Be sure to review these important items before the fall semester begins:

 If you will be living on campus, review this important information about the residence halls.

 If you will be living off campus, the Interest Groups are the first events you are invited to attend.

 Meal times listed are for students with a campus meal plan.

 Bring your Hornet ID card with you to all orientation events you attend.

 For each of the events marked with a  that you attend, you will be entered into a drawing to win prizes at the Highlighter Party on Friday, August 17 and Wooster Wipeout on Saturday, August 18. The more events you attend, the more chances you have to win!

Sunday morning and early afternoon is your time to finish unpacking, set up your room, run errands, or just relax. If you would like to attend a religious service, you can find a place of worship on the Emporia Chamber of Commerce website.

Join us in the Memorial Union Ballroom at 3:00pm and we will direct you to the interest group of your choice. Want to visit more than one session? Join us for a second round of sessions at 6:00pm!

These sessions are a great opportunity to meet other new students who share your interests, learn about involvement opportunities at Emporia State, and get advice from upperclass students. This is a great way to explore what ESU has to offer without having to decide what to join right away. Interest groups will include:

The General Assembly is an event that takes place at the beginning of each semester. At the assembly, new faculty and staff members are introduced to the campus community. President Shonrock provides an overview of the previous semester's student, faculty, and staff accomplishments and shares information about future goals and initiatives. All members of the campus community are invited to attend the assembly.

This is THE Hornet spirit event for new students! Meet ESU President Michael Shonrock and your student body president, learn the ESU Fight Song, and see the debut of a BRAND NEW ESU song written by our very own student artists Gabe & Benny! The E-TEAM, Corky, the pep band, and the Stingers dance team will be there to give you an official welcome to ESU!

Bring an old t-shirt, or one from another school, and swap it for an ESU shirt! The first 500 new students in the door will get a free 2012 Hornet Orientation t-shirt!

Community Block Party

DJ Blaski from KISS 103.1 will be spinning music. Enjoy free food and games. Wear a white t-shirt, and we'll provide the highlighters and the blacklights to make it glow. Prize drawings will be held throughout the evening for students who attended orientation programs. You must be present to win.

Wooster Wipeout!

Morse Hall Lawn & Wooster Lake

Relax and enjoy free food, music, and outdoor games! Activities will include sand volleyball, yard games, canoe races on Wooster Lake, and more! Prize drawings will be held throughout the evening for students who attended orientation programs. You must be present to win.
