Graduate Course Numbering
A student is advised to select classes appropriate to his or her classification; however, any course may be taken within the limits imposed by other regulations of the division, colleges, schools, or the university.
Course Levels
500-699 Upper division, undergraduate. Primarily for juniors and seniors, with enrollment of less than 50% graduate students.- 700-799 Graduate and upper division. For graduate students primarily; with enrollment of less than 50% undergraduates.
Courses numbered 800 and above are for graduate students only.
- 800-899 Designed primarily for masters degree students.
- 900-999 Designed primarily for students in the Ed.S. and Ph.D. programs.
Course Identification Number
The meaning of the 13 digit identification number following each course description under the Course Offerings section of this catalog is illustrated by the following example: 4 96 762 2 5005-01
- 4 Liberal Arts and Sciences (School or College)
- 96 Theatre Arts (Discipline)
- 762 Graduate and upper division, Creative Dramatics (course level and number)
