The Great Plains Center for Gifted Studies was established in 1986

as a place to house Emporia State University's print resources for gifted education.

In the years since, under the direction of Dr. Connie Phelps,

the center's holdings have been greatly expanded

and its role in the community and region is growing in importance.

Our aim is to become a significant source of support to gifted students,

their families, and the educators who work with them throughout the midwest.
