First Year Seminar

Want to learn how to have a fulfilling and successful college career, both personally and academically? The First Year Seminar is for you! The seminar is a one-credit course that meets twice a week for the first eight weeks of the semester, and is offered in both fall and spring.

CW 101 First Year Seminar is a highly interactive course designed to help you adjust to college and to life at Emporia State by teaching you strategies for personal, social, and academic success. It is not a lecture course! You will engage in hands-on activities and meaningful discussions about how to have a successful college experience. Three out of four students who take this seminar recommend it for other new students.

For more information about the First Year Seminar, contact the Student Advising Center at (620) 341-5421.
