Student Fee Allocations

Each year, the Associated Student Government allocates over $140,000 in student fees in Registered Student Organizations for various purposes.  Many student groups use this money to support events they've planned throughout the year.  Others would like to travel to conferences during the course of the year.  Whatever the student group's need, the Associated Student Government is here to help. 

In order to request allocation money, the first step is to make sure that you represent an RSO that is in good standing with the Associated Student Government.  This means that you are recognized, that your organization's contact information is up-to-date, and that you've completed the necessary volunteer services hours for your group. 

Next, make sure you make plans for your group's needs ahead of time. This means that, if you're planning an event or travel for the 2014-2015 school year, you apply for an allocation from ASG during the 2013-2014 school year.  Make a tentative budget for your approximate needs for your organization over the next year, and have this ready to present to ASG. 

Completion of Allocation Packets/Materials

Then, complete all of the information included in ASG's Allocation Packet.

Allocation Hearings

After you turn in your Allocation Packet to the Center for Student Involvement, sign-up for an Allocation Hearing appointment.  At this time, representatives from your student organization will meet with members of ASG's Fiscal Affairs committee in order to answer any questions that both parties may have about your requests or plans discussed in your Allocation Packet.  These meetings are expected to be around ten minutes each, and your organization's attendance is vital to recieving Student Fee money over the next year.

Final Vote on Proposed Allocations

The final step in the student fee allocation process involves your organization's attendance at the Associated Student Government meeting in which the bill to allocate funding for the next academic year will be discussed and voted upon.  Again, because it is important that representatives from your organization be present to answer any questions ASG members may have about your request, it is pivotal that your organization attend this meeting, which usually takes place at the beginning of April.
