  •  Old Business:

    • James Wenger shared with the Council a report from the Board of Regents Core Outcomes Project for computer literacy.  The report included the following recommendation: “We recommend that all Kansas institutions of higher education require at a minimum a COMPUTER LITERACY course (covering attached competencies) as a general education requirement for degree completion of Associate level or higher.”
    • Council reviewed and voted to receive report on mid-term evaluations of GTAs.  Evaluations were received from professors Kathy Ermler, Richard Schrock, Rachelle Smith, and Ken Weaver.
    • Council approved the following changes to the Competency Exam Requirements.  In the  “Alternative Ways” section of the requirement under “writing” add:  “Receiving credit by examination for EG102.”  Under “mathematics,” change item #3 to read as follows:  “Earning a grade of “C” or higher in any approved general education math course beyond MA110,” and add “Receiving credit by examination for either MA110 or MA161.”  Under “reading,” change the last item to read as follows: “Earning a B- or higher (or credit by examination) in each course used to meet the general education requirements.”
