I. Minutes of March 14, 2007 were approved.

Discussion centered around three documents prepared and distributed by Tony Ambrosio.  The three documents were: “General Education Learning Outcomes and Program Assessment: Issues, Concerns, and Recommendations,” Development Process of a Friendly and Useful Assessment/Evaluation Plan, “ and “Assessing General Education Goals with Faculty and Administrative Support.”  After lengthy discussion, Council agreed:

1. That we need to educate the members of the Academic Affairs Committee of Faculty Senate about the evolution of and the reasoning behind our proposed general education program;

2. That we need to establish a time line for future work on the General Education program and communicate this information to the university community;

3. That we, as a university, should agree not to make changes to the proposed general education program, once it is approved, for three years.

The meeting adjourned at 4:20 p.m.

                                                     Respectfully submitted,
