Enrollment (Graduates)
For purposes of receiving financial aid, listed below are the enrollment statuses based on enrolled credit hours for graduate students. Graduate-level students are not funded for undergraduate-level courses, unless the student must take pre-requisite courses before being fully admitted to their graduate program. To be considered for this eligiblility, please complete a pre-requisite form available on our Forms page.
Please note that these statuses are for financial aid purposes only and may not reflect departmental standards.
Summer/Fall/Spring
| Full-Time | 7 or more graduate-level credit hours |
| Three-Quarter Time | 5 - 6 graduate-level credit hours |
| Half-Time | 4 graduate-level credit hours |
| Less-Than Half-Time | 1 - 3 graduate-level credit hours |
For the purpose of calculating a student's estimated cost of attendance, three-quarter time and full-time have been combined into one status: greater than half-time. So, if a graduate student enrolls in 5 or more credit hours, their cost of attendance will remain the same; however, there are some aid programs that use the above statuses to determine disbursement of aid (for instance, the Federal TEACH Grant).
Note: You must be enrolled at least half-time to be Direct Loan eligible.
