The amendment that passed was incorporated into the text of the bill as presented below.

  1. Purpose: To create a written transcript hold policy at Emporia State University.

  2. Previous Senate Action: All previous Senate actions regarding academic policy on the campus approved by and put in place by the administration

  3. Discussion Points:

    1. Complaints have been made concerning uneven treatment (or the appearance thereof) concerning transcript holds, and

    2. Graduate teaching assistants must have credentials and

    3. Without clear precepts, students do not understand or always promptly adhere to what is a contractual basis of their acceptance as student.

Emporia State University Transcript Hold Policy

Therefore, Emporia State University will institute the following transcript hold policies.

1. A graduate assistantship will not be activated and paid to a graduate student until the student's official transcripts are on file.

2. Undergraduate and graduate students are required to supply official transcripts by the 10th week of a semester. Those students who do not supply transcripts by the 10th week of a semester:
A) will be notified prior to any subsequent registration of incomplete records and
B) a hold will be placed on any following registration until all official transcripts are on file.

3. This policy shall be implemented in the fall of the 2001 academic year.
