Resolution to Allow Further Discussion and Examination of the Impact of the +/- Grading System Prior to Implementation

Whereas: Considerable time has passed since the bill on this subject was approved;
Whereas: Considerable division on this issue has become apparent among faculty;
Whereas: A number of legitimate concerns have arisen regarding both the effects of this policy and the other changes necessary for its implementation to be effective and equitable;
Therefore: Let it be resolved that the implementation of this system be delayed so that further discussion of and examination of the impact on the university of this change, to include data collection at the end of the spring semester, can occur before the Senate revisits this issue during the fall semester.
