  1. Purpose: To allow further discussion of the +/- grading system before it is put into effect.

  2. Previous Senate Action: Additon of the +/- Grades, FSB 95001; and Resolution of intent for the use of the +/- grading system, FSR 98004.

  3. Definition of Terms: none

Resolution to Allow Further Discussion of the +/- Grading System Prior to Implementation

1 Whereas: Considerable time has passed since the bill on this subject was approved;
2 Whereas: Considerable division on this issue has become apparent among faculty;
3 Whereas: A number of legitimate concerns have arisen regarding both the effects of this policy and the other changes necessary for its implementation to be effective and equitable;
4 Therefor: Let it be resolved that the implementation of this system be delayed so that further discussion of and examination of the impact on the university of this change can occur before the Senate revisits this issue during the spring semester.
