FACULTY SENATE MEETING
May 7, 1996

1. Call to order:
President Ron McCoy called the meeting to order at 4:20 P.M. in the Messenger Room.
2. Comments:
President McCoy discussed the procedure for making Senate committee assignments. In making these
assignments he worked from the preference lists submitted by each senator, giving preference to those
that were turned in on time. He also placed only full time teaching faculty on the Academic Affairs
Committee. President McCoy mentioned that because of the reorganization in the Teacher's College
some of their senate representatives have not been elected. Those committee assignments will be made
as he receives notification of their new senators.
President McCoy requested that members of the Academic Affairs Committee convene with Harvey
Foyle, members of the Faculty Affairs Committee convene with Nanette Martin, and members of the
Committee on Campus Governance convene with Nate Terrell. The committees were charged with the
task of electing a committee chair for the 1996-97 academic year.
3. Election of Committee Chairs for 1996-1997:
The elected chairs of the senate committees are: Senator Ballester (Academic Affairs), Senator Butler
(Faculty Affairs), and Senator Terrell (Campus Governance).
4. Other:
Senator McCoy announced a Faculty Senate Executive Committee meeting for outgoing and incoming
committee chairs on May 2, 1996 at 12:00 p.m. in the KSN Room.
5. Adjournment:
President McCoy adjourned the meeting at 4:45 P.M.
