Dr. Raffaele DeVito, professor of Management in the School of Business, joined Emporia State University in 1982. He received his Doctorate from Northeastern University Boston and his Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Adelphi University, New York. He also has a Chinese Language Certification that he received from Yale University in Connecticut.
DeVito is currently the chair of the Kansas International Trade Coordinating Council (KITCC) and has served as chair for more than 24 years. Among other responsibilities, the Council membership works with Kansas international firms and selects the recipient of the Governor’s Exporter of the Year Award each year. In 2008, he received a special Governor’s Award for Outstanding Leadership and Service to the State.
DeVito has presented or published international business papers in Europe, Latin America, the Pacific Rim (China and Taiwan) and the United States. He has served as visiting lecturer at East China Normal University, Shanghai, P.R.C. and conducted workshops in France, Poland, and Hungary. Most recently as part of a sabbatical semester, he lectured at three Chinese exchange universities and met with Chinese manufacturers who were conducting business with the U.S. He currently teaches International Business, Strategic Planning, and other management courses. DeVito’s research activities are focused on small- and medium-sized firms and their development of international supply-chain relationships.

Judy Conway, public service administrator in Marketing & Media Relations, joined Emporia State University in 2006. Before joining the Marketing & Media Relations team, Judy worked at Emporia State for six years in the Federal Perkins Student Loan Office as a Perkins Loan Officer.
Conway serves on the Budget Development & Tuition Committee, 150th Sesquicentennial Celebration Committee, Search Committee for School of Business Dean, as team captain for United Way, and Co-Chair for Classified Assembly.
In her spare time Conway enjoys giving back to her community by volunteering. She has served as a Hospice volunteer, supervised the kitchen at Abundant Harvest, and served on the Board of Directors for the Farmer’s Market. Judy is also a member of IAAP, International Association of Administrative Professionals.

Erickson, Michael

Mike Erickson joined Emporia State University as associate vice president of information technology and chief information officer in 2008. He received both his Master’s of Science and Bachelor’s of Science Degrees in Computer Science from Wichita State University. He is currently pursuing a doctorate in Higher Education Administration from The University of Kansas. His professional and research interests are in organizational leadership, transformational change, and the use of information technology to enhance student engagement across the institution.
Erickson is an active member of state, regional and national organizations and initiatives in the areas of information technology and higher education. He is currently a member of the Kansas Board of Regents Information Technology Council (RITC), and serves as an appointee to the Kansas Partnership for Accessible Technology (KPAT) representing the Regents institutions of higher education in Kansas. He is currently serving as chair of the board of directors of the Kansas Research and Education Network (KanREN).
Erickson is an active member of EDUCAUSE and has presented and conducted workshops at both the regional and national level. He is chair of the program committee for the West-Southwest Regional Conference in 2013 and is a Council Member on the Hawkins Leadership Roundtable.

Dr. Ronald D. Freeze is an Assistant Professor of Information Systems at Emporia State University. He received his Ph.D. from Arizona State University.
His current research interests include Knowledge Management, Capability assessment, ERP Implementation and SEM. His publications have appeared in the Journal of Management Information Systems, Journal of Computer Information Systems, Journal of Knowledge Management, and International Journal of Knowledge Management.

Dr. Dipak Ghosh is a professor of Economics in the Department of Accounting and Information Systems. He received his Ph.D. in Economics from Tulane University in 1994. He taught for three years at Tulane University before joining Emporia State University in 1997.
His research interests include Applied Econometrics and Open Economy Macroeconomics. His articles have appeared in Economics Letters, Applied Economics, Applied Economics Letters, Journal of Economics, Journal of Economics and Finance, Studies in Economics and Finance, Southwest Business and Economics Journal, and Indian Journal of Economics and Business.
Ghosh is a member of the Retirement Plan Committee of the Kansas Board of Regents. This committee advises the Board on matters related to the Mandatory Retirement Plan offered at all the Kansas Regents Universities.

Dr. Robert Gibson, director of Learning Technologies, joined Emporia State University in 2008. He received his Ed.D. from Nova Southeastern University, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., in Instructional Technology and Distance Education; his Master of Science in Instructional Technology and Design from the University of Wyoming; and three bachelor’s degrees from the University of Wyoming: Business Administration, Graphic Design, and Fine Arts.
Gibson is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Western Governor’s University with a concentration in information technology and project management. He holds an Advanced Online Teaching Certification from the University of California, Los Angeles.
Along with his duties as director of Learning Technologies for Emporia State University, Gibson is a graduate adjunct faculty member for the School of Library and Information Management and teaches part-time for the Instructional Design and Technology program at Emporia State.
Gibson serves on numerous state technology organizations and committees. He has presented nationally, regionally, and at the local level on numerous occasions. He has more than 13 peer-reviewed publications and two peer-reviewed book chapters to his credit. Gibson is Google Apps for Education certified, and Quality Matters Peer Review and Online Facilitator Certified. In 2010 he was awarded the Exemplary Course from Blackboard.
Gibson has taught numerous courses online and been an online student in multiple courses and programs. He and a faculty member developed the first completely online course in Kansas in 1995: Nursing Informatics. He serves in leadership roles in multiple statewide committees, including Colleague-to-Colleague and the Kansas Association of Educational Communications and Technology (KAECT). He is a member of Phi Delta Kappa professional education association and Phi Gamma Sigma honorary society.

Lynn Hobson is a native of Emporia. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Communication from Emporia State University in 1978. In 1997 she received her Master of Science in Counselor Education, also from Emporia State University.
Hobson has served Emporia State University in leadership roles since 1989. Beginning in 2001 she was named the director of the Memorial Union and served in that capacity until 2007. Since that time Hobson has served as the associate vice president for Student Affairs. She has responsibilities for Residence Halls, Student Recreation Center, Student Wellness, Memorial Union, Student Life Learning and Assessment, and the Center for Student Involvement.
Hobson has served on various search committees, co-chaired the Title IX policy review committee, written the Annual Security Report, co-chaired the Critical Incident Planning Group, and currently serves on one of the Higher Learning Commission sub-committees for the campus. She served as chair of the Memorial Union Renovation Steering Committee through the completion of the $23 million project and currently serves on the Memorial Union Board of Directors.

Dr. Sheryl Lidzy, associate professor of communication in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, joined Emporia State University in 2006. With a Ph.D. from the University of Oklahoma, her dissertation, entitled: Successful Socialiation of an Organization Culture: A Critical Analysis of the Messages of Student Members of Southern Nazarene University, was completed in 2002.
Most recently she has an article in the Teaching Forum section of Volume 23 of the Journal of Communication, Speech & Theatre Association of North Dakota, entitled: “Doing Business In …”: An Emic Training Module. In addition, Dr. Lidzy's scholarship has focused on gendered communication within the organizational and interpersonal contexts. Her article, Cultural Notion of Masculinity and Femininity: An Assessment of Gender Role Expectations among Student Members of a Christian University appeared in the Christian Higher Education: A Journal of Applied Research & Practice. Lidzy has contributed to the textbook, A Manner of Speaking: Successful Presentations for Work and Life, which is in its second edition.
Lidzy has taught courses in the following areas: Conflict Resolution, Family Communication, Interpersonal Communication, Intercultural Communication, On-line Communication, Public Speaking, Virtual Teamwork. She co-advises Lambda Pi Eta, the National Communication Association student honor association. Lidzy is the faculty advisor for several recognized student organizations sponsored by the Office of Multicultural Affairs, including Harmonious Voices of Praise, Multicultural Freshman Action Team, and Zeta Phi Beta.
Lidzy has represented Emporia State to the annual Michael Tilford Conference on Diversity & Multiculturalism, which is sponsored by the Kansas Board of Regents and is scheduled for October 21-22, 2013, at Emporia State. In her discipline, Lidzy has served nationally as the chair of Women's Caucus of the National Communication Association. Regionally, she served as the Chair of the Women's Caucus, the Communication Theory Division, and the Health Communication Division of Central States Communication Association. Lidzy serves as president of the Oklahoma Speech Theatre Communication Association (OSTCA). The 2012 OSTCA convention theme was “Building Productive Communication Relationships.”

Dr. Donald Miller earned his Bachelor of Science in management and Master of Science in business from Emporia State University in 1965 and 1966 respectively. He earned his Ed.D. in business education from Oklahoma State University in 1972.
Miller has been a professor at Emporia State University for 45 years. In that time he also has served as chair of the Division of Management, Marketing, Finance, and Economics; director of the MBA program; director of the Center for Management Development Services.
Besides numerous journal articles, conference proceedings, media projects, and presentations, Miller has co-authored eight books.
Miller was co-recipient with Nitham Hindi and Stephen Catt of a Lybrand Award given by the Institute of Management Accountants in 2006 for one of the best articles published in Strategic Finance during 2005. He received the Roe R. Cross Distinguished Professor Award (the highest faculty award given at Emporia State University) in 2005, the School of Business Intellectual Contributions Award in 2004 and the School of Business Faculty Instruction Award 1990.

Mary M. Mingenback, controller, joined Emporia State University in 1996. She received a Bachelor of Science in Education degree in secondary level Physical Science, a Master of Science degree in education, a Bachelor of Science in Business degree with a major in Accounting and a MBA degree from Emporia State University. Mingenback is a member of Beta Gamma Sigma. She is a Certified Public Accountant with a license to practice in Kansas.
Before coming to the university, Mingenback was an audit manager in a three-site accounting firm with responsibilities for supervision and management of audits. In addition to audits of governmental entities and not-for-profit organizations, she prepared financial statements and tax returns for individual, corporate and not-for-profit organizations.
Mingenback’s other experience includes teaching science at the middle school/secondary level for 10 years and receiving the Emporia Master Teacher Award. She currently serves as treasurer for St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church. She is also on the finance committee for Newman Regional Health. She has been a member of the board of directors for Newman Regional Health and for the United Way of the Flint Hills. She served as president of the board for the United Way of the Flint Hills. She has also served as a member of the Vestry for St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church.

William (Bill) Ramsey is a management consultant with over 35 years of management experience in the public and private sectors. Ramsey is a former city manager, public works/utility director, and vice president for an engineering consulting firm. He is now semi-retired, with a consulting practice.
Ramsey is a past president of the Kansas City Metro Chapter of the American Public Works Assoc. (APWA) and served on a number of APWA national committees and assignments. He is a Life Member of APWA and The International City Management Association (ICMA). Ramsey is the author of numerous articles and contributed to several management books for both ICMA and APWA. He has served as an adjunct instructor for several universities in the Kansas City area.
Ramsey is a retired colonel in the Army Reserve with 30 years of service. He is a graduate of the Command and General Staff College and the Army War College. Bill has a MPA in City Management from the University of Kansas and a Bachelor of Science in Education from Emporia State University.

Dr. Marian Riedy is an assistant professor of Business Administration teaching courses in the area of Business Law. Dr. Riedy graduated from Harvard Law School and is licensed to practice law in Kansas and the District of Columbia. She also has her MBA from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business.
Before she joined the Emporia State faculty, Riedy was a partner in a District of Columbia law firm specializing in litigation, and she remains a consultant to the firm. She has extensive experience in alternative dispute resolution, having served as a mediator for the Superior Court of the District of Columbia, and participated as counsel in mediations and arbitrations for many years.

Mark Schreiber is a native of Garden City, Kan. He received an Associate of Arts degree from Garden City Community College. In 1976, he transferred to Emporia State University where he received a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Biology.
Schreiber began his work career with KG&E at the Wolf Creek Nuclear Generating Station in 1979 and over the next 18 years worked in the environmental, emergency planning and corporate affairs areas. In 1997, he transferred to the Western Resources Community Relations group and now serves as the Director, Public Affairs for Westar Energy in Topeka.
Schreiber’s community involvement includes serving on the boards of the Topeka Ronald McDonald House, Emporia Area Chamber of Commerce, and the United Way of the Flint Hills.
He has been chairman of the Emporia Area Chamber of Commerce Legislative Committee, president of the Kansas Coalition Against Sexual and Domestic Violence, vice-chairman of the Emporia-Lyon County Metropolitan Planning Commission, and an Emporia State University Foundation trustee.
Schreiber is a graduate of the Leadership Emporia and Leadership Kansas programs.

Stuart Sneath is vice president of Emporia State University’s Associated Student Government. He is a junior sociology major from Ellsworth, Kan. During his time at Emporia State, Sneath has been active with Community Hornets, Alpha Kappa Lambda fraternity, Youth Friends mentoring organization, and has served as a student senator and as campus relations chairman for the student Homecoming committee.
