CE 710A: Multicultural Counseling
Multicultural Counseling is a course that provides students with the opportunity to develop the awareness, sensitivity and skills needed to participate in culturally relevant interactions.   Issues related to race, class, gender, disability, and sexual orientation are presented and discussed.  Through experiential activities and self-exploration, students are challenged to identify and explore issues related to personal biases and prejudices which may impact their counseling relationships. This is an exciting, challenging class that attempts to create an optimal learning environment for students to feel safe in examining these issues.  While this class discusses the implications of diversity on counseling relationships, it is open to students from all majors and is appropriate for any student interested in examining how diversity impacts relationships and social interactions.
