Chase County Overview


Chase County Kansas was founded in 1859. Its current population is just over 3,000. Chase County is dominated by native prairie on the beautifully rolling Flint Hills. Outcropping limestone beds form picturesque stone lines on the grassy hillsides. The Cottonwood River flows through the heart of the county providing water for agricultural fields. The county courthouse, situated in Cottonwood Falls, is said to be the oldest court house still serving as a court house west of the Mississippi.
