Image File Storage and Processing
INSERT a floppy disk until it clicks. To remove the disk, slide the EJECT LOCK to the left and slide down the DISK EJECT LEVER.
Set the PLAY/STILL/MOVIE selector to STILL. The recording media selector, MS/FD, should be set to FD (floppy disk). Press and hold the shutter button halfway down and the green light flashes indicating the camera is automatically adjusting the exposure and focusing the captured image. When these automatic adjustments finish the light will stop flashing, then lights up, and the camera is ready to record (if you release the shutter button the recording will be canceled). Now press the shutter button fully down and "RECORDING" will appear on the LCD screen. While the image is being recorded, do not shake or strike the camera (nor should you turn off the camera, change the position of the MS/FD selector, or remove the floppy disk/battery pack).
The ZOOM lever is on the front of the camera (below the shutter) and can be moved from T, telephoto (subject appears closer), to W, wide-angle (subject appears farther away). The minimum focal distance to the subject for T is about 36 inches and W, 10 inches.
The flash will automatically strobe when surroundings are dark, as long as the setting is on AUTO. To change this flash mode, press FLASH (lightning bolt) repeatedly so that the flash indicator appears on the LCD screen. Each time the button is pressed, the indicator changes from an eye symbol (auto red-eye reduction), lightning bolt (forced flash), strike through lightning bolt (no flash).
To delete an image, the selector must be in PLAY and the image must be displayed. Select DELETE and the OK from the menu. If you are in INDEX mode, all six may be deleted at once.
The camera must be turned OFF in order to charge the battery. It is not necessary to remove the battery for recharging. Open the DC IN cover and connect the AC power adaptor to the DC IN jack of the camera with the small triangle mark facing up. Connect the power cord (mains lead) to the AC power adaptor and then to a wall outlet (mains). The POWER ON/OFF lamp (orange) below the LDC screen lights up when charging begins and goes off when a full charge is completed. After charging disconnect the AC power adaptor from the DC IN jack on the camera.
The images will be numbered in sequence of recording, with the file name such as MVC-001f.jpg. Rename this file name to be meaningful (e.g., rename MVC-001f.jpg to jim.jpg or MVC-007f.jpg to glass01.jpg). Images may be used as they were recorded (A) or enhanced with a program such as Adobe Photoshop (B and C).
The original images have been enhanced by cropping (cut out some of the background), image size adjusting, colors/brightness altering, background filling, and "smudging" (white spot on sweatshirt removed).

Turn it On!
Slide the POWER switch to the right to turn on the power. The POWER ON/OFF lamp (green) will light up. You must insert a diskette to take photographs!
Storing Images
This camera stores images on a floppy disk or memory stick (neither of which is included!). The floppy disk is the least expensive option. The appropriate diskette should be 3.5 inch size, 2HD (1.44 MB), and formated (MS-DOS).
Recording Still Images
Still images are recorded in a JPEG format. To record, the power switch should be on and floppy disk must be inserted.
Review Recorded Images
Saved images may be viewed and/or deleted anytime. Move the PLAY/STILL/MOVIE selector to PLAY. The last recorded image appears on the LCD screen. Press the up triangle on the control button to display the menu bar on the screen and push the arrows (left or right) to review the past images.
Battery Power Supply
This camera operates with the NP-F330 InfoLithium battery pack that can be recharged. The number of minutes available for operation will be displayed when the camera is turned on. When the time is completely out, recharging the battery may take two and one-half hours. Be kind and recharge the battery before passing the camera on to the next person or returning it to ESU.
Image File Storage and Processing
Remove the floppy disk and place it in the computer. On the hard drive, create a file with an appropriate name to store your images (e.g., WkshopImages). Transfer the floppy disk contents to the hard drive (double click on the floppy disk drive A, go to EDIT, SELECT ALL, COPY, and then PASTE the contents into the created file on the hard drive, C).
