Graduate students who have completed all required non-thesis/research project courses for their Master of Science program must enroll at Emporia State University for at least one credit hour during each fall semester until they complete all degree requirements. The course credit will be awarded only after submission to their adviser of a written report indicating: 1) progress on the thesis or research report during the previous twelve months, and 2) a timeline of expected effort during the coming twelve months. Graduate students who fail to enroll during fall semester will be required to petition to the department through their adviser for reinstatement.
Limited funds are available to assist students for whom paying the cost of one credit hour each fall semester is a hardship. Inquiries about this assistance should be directed to the chair of the Departments of Physical Sciences.
This policy approved by physical sciences faculty in November 2009.
