Introduction To The Theme
To begin with, topographic maps are made up by three basic elements: contour lines, township lines, and range lines. To understand topographic maps, you must first understand the parts that make up the whole, for this map. Topographic maps show the elevation of the land through contour lines and the location of specific places with township lines. The range lines show the north and south boundaries of township lines.
