I.  Topography and Topographic maps - These maps use lines to show different elevations. These lines show elevations relative to other geologic structures on the map.

A.  Contour lines-These are lines on topographic maps used to find elevation.

B.  Township lines-They are used to show East and West boundaries. They contain 36 sections and each section is divided into quarters.

C.  Range lines-Lines that run North and South and mark township boundaries.
