Thanks for visiting
the World of Amber!
The shed moult skin from a centipede, Polyxendia, 120X
magnification. The hairy covering was to discourage predators. This centipede
was entombed in amber of Baltic origin, Lithuania. A special thanks to Garry
Platt for providing the photograph of a specimen in his private collection.
