Welcome to
A View of Estonian Life

Võrumaa County, Estonia

This viewing tower is located at Haanja and is open to the public.
What a great view off the top of the tower of the surrounding countryside! Latvia is visible if you know which way to look.
Untitled! This was marking a small wooden A-frame gift shop.
Estonia became an independent republic again August 20, 1991. This Freedom War Memorial is to commemorate the freedom fight from the former U.S.S.R. forced occupation since the end of World War II.
If there had not been so much rain recently, we could have crossed this pedestrian suspension bridge from Vöru to Rose Island. Artifacts recovered from the island proved it had been inhabited for some 5000 years!
