Program Summary

The Department of Early Childhood/Elementary Teacher Education at Emporia State University is excited to announce our new partnership with Johnson County Community College (Overland Park, KS)  in offering a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education (BSE).

The JCCC/ESU program is designed as a four-year degree completion program.  Students complete the first two years of general education and preparatory education courses through JCCC.  During the third year of the program, students complete the ESU professional education courses from the convenience of the JCCC campus and from their home via courses taught online.  The fourth and final year students complete the program in a Professional Development School in the Johnson County area.

The BSE program is accredited by the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE), the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, and the Kansas State Board of Education.
